Are you interested in making a difference in your community? Do you have some time to spare? Casa de Vida relies on the generosity of volunteers to help us execute our mission of helping young, pregnant women and families in need.
We have multiple opportunities for volunteers to help us in our work at Casa de Vida. With the exception of the Baby’s Closet, many of our volunteer positions are on an occasional or as-needed basis. Explore the variety of ways you can make a difference in someone’s life.
Wanda’s Baby Closet
Casa de Vida operates Wanda’s Baby Closet which is stocked with diapers, formula, baby clothes, strollers, car seats and more. These items are free to those in the community who are in need. The Baby Closet is run entirely by volunteers and is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. Volunteers are needed to staff the Closet during these hours. Duties include receiving, sorting and stocking donations, light cleaning as needed, and assisting shoppers.
Some of our residents may need assistance with their education from time to time. We are looking for tutors for a variety of subjects who would be available on an on-call basis to help our residents strengthen their skills.
We are always looking for someone who can come up with fun and educational crafts for our residents.
Do you have a skill or talent you would like to share that would make an impact on a young woman’s life? We offer a variety of classes to our residents that are designed to help them be successful mothers as well as community members. All of our classes are taught by volunteers and include topics such as child development, financial literacy, self-help, social skills, etc. If you are interested in teaching a class or have a topic you would like to share, let us know!
