There is a strong need for social service programs in Nevada to help bridge the gap between income availability and the growing costs associated with providing for the basic needs of children.
Wanda’s Baby Closet provides free baby items to approximately 3500 at-risk infants and children under the age of five each year. Casa de Vida works in a collaborative effort with the community, collecting donations from individuals, agencies, and corporations so that we can provide diapers, food, clothing, coats, shoes, car seats, strollers, beds, bedding, toys, and so much more to any child in need. All the items we receive are cleaned, sanitized, and organized in a friendly boutique environment in the basement at Casa de Vida. Our customers can come in and choose from a wide selection of items available. If you know of a family in need, send them our way. They can shop our boutique (for free!).
To shop in Wanda’s Closet, families must bring a photo ID and their child’s birth certificate or birth confirmation. Shot records and a social security card can be used in place of the birth certificate or hospital birth confirmation forms. Families may shop once every three months for clothes, diapers and other baby items they may need.
