Due to COVID-19, we are unable to allow individuals inside to shop, but we are accepting reservations. If you want to pick up items, call (775) 384-1854. You will need to state your needs, schedule a time for pick up, and wear a mask when picking up your item bag.
Now a part of the Eddy House Family, Casa de Vida is the sole operator of Wanda’s Closet. The Closet provides life’s essentials to infants and children under the age of five each year, which addresses the basic needs of one of our community’s most vulnerable populations: young children. We work in a collaborative effort collecting donations from individuals, agencies, and corporations to provide diapers, food, clothing, coats, shoes, car seats, strollers, beds, bedding, toys, and so much more to any child in need. All the items we receive are cleaned, sanitized, and organized in a friendly boutique environment in the basement of the Casa de Vida home. Our “customers” can come in and choose from a wide selection of items provided free of charge.
Since the beginning of operations in 2001, our services at Wanda’s Closet are available from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday each week. Families must bring a form of ID and the child’s birth certificate to receive the items in the shop. Individuals may shop every three months for clothes and receive food and diapers.
